OT Skid Steer Attachments

Picked up an older skid steer. (Thomas T233HD) Its a 60+HP(Kubotat S2800) machine has 2500lb lift capacity machine weighs in at ???

The bucket mechanical quick connect is an older style. Is there a standard these attachments were designed to back in the day? I have no idea when this thing was made. I'm looking to get forks for this machine and a grapple bucket for moving logs/sawmill slabs. I'm trying to figure out what to ask for in compatibility for attachments. Any help appreciated. Any one make a thumb for a normal bucket to grab slabs and logs? Not opposed to cutting the bucket up thats on it now (its seen a better day).

Hi Ray I have a smaller skid steer and I have a set of tongs attached to the end of my forks and works well for skidding or set fork about 4 ft from end of log and end under frame of the forks and pick up log for placing I find forks work well in the woods

T233HD's are good machines. The 23 at the beginning means 2300 lbs. rated capacity. The 3 means Kubota engine and in the T233HD it's a 6 cylinder. T233HD's are the updated 233 plus. They are a better machine and were made in the early nineties to late nineties I believe. The later models may have a universal qiuick attach. If so you might be able to switch it over. Check pin size. I have a 94 T133 and the 95's went to a universal quick attach. Thomas was a division of McCain foods but have been sold and were recently sold again. There were a bunch of different attachments made for them and it isn't too big of a job adapting other makes of attachments to fit. On my machine it is more difficult because of a totally different style of quick attach. Hope this helps. Dave

Ray,
I think they make an adaptor plate to mount in place of your existing bucket mount. You may have to do some welding to get everthing just right. This setup would enable you to hook up to any of the newer style `universal`or`bobcat` attachments.
I don`t know what the cost would be, but the benefit would be that you could hook up to a number of different attachments without being confined to what was available just for your machine.
Hopefully someone on here knows more about this than me and can fill you in. Just a thought

I'm in CT. A "root/rock grapple brush" bucket is what I could use for starters. The kind with tong rake on the bottom dual thumbs on top. 72" wide.
