I'm in the market for an engine hoist. Would like to a buy a good used one if possible. Any ideas on what to look for? and prices? I'm restoring a HI Super AV so I'm not looking at a whole lot of weight at any one time. Thanks

Just bought a brand new 4000 lb capacity folding unit at a closeout store for $160. Only thing I would suggest is get a folding unit. When mine is set up for use it takes a lot of floor space. When folded it takes no more space that a refrigerator.

It's a chain that has several stores here in western WA, perhaps elsewhere as well. They get closeout merchadise or returns from several other places and sell it at pretty decent prices. It was probably a fluke that this hoist showed up, hadn't seen one before or since at that place. The hoist itself is the same one that Northern Hydraulics sells for about $230. I wasn't in the market for it, I went in to buy kitty litter to clean up a big oil spill, didn't find any kitty litter, but couldn't pass up the hoist.
