You got me curious now. Are you going to run it off a tractors hydraulics? Seems like it would be kind of clumsy in the woods. Or are you working on a pile?I would be the first one to saw the hydraulic line in two.

Got one that has hung in the rafters of my pole barn, new and never used for 25 years. I took it in as payment for car repair from a guy selling them . It is a big two man affair with a handle at both ends of it's 4 ft citter bar. It has a pto hyd pump with oil tank and 1/2 inch hyd hoses connecting it to the hyd motor in the saw handle

It has a little needle valve that bleeds off a bit of hyd oil to oil the chain and bar. I have not a clue what brand ? Its painted green.

Be sure to be seated when you are about to receive the answer to the question, "how much?". These are generally heavy duty commercial industrial saws with significant prices, several times what you'd pay for a gas or electric chain saw at a hardware store or home center.

I work for the the railroad and as Stanley makes many of our hyd track tools, they also make a hyd chainsaw. I have no idea where you would go to buy one however. Maybe look at Stanley online and see if they have a link to hyd tools (and track tools???) Best of luck.

Most of your tree trimmer bucket trucks use them, but are powered off the hydraulics of the truck/bucket system. As far as a stand alone unit, it would take a pretty decent sized small engine driven power pack to run one.

Might check with local power co or tree service that cuts trees around power lines with basket truck. They use this type of saw around here, coastal SC. angle Iron

I worked in 2 underground coal mines at the second mine we had them might try mine supply on line. Maybe can find out who still makes them and go from there

What type? I know northern tools sells one with diamond chain for contrete cutting. I've seen other for underwater tree cutting too. I've seen fire figher models for cutting cars and roofs open with carbide tipped chains.
