Long story short, the key was left on the "on" postion for 2 days, had a dead battery. Put on batt. charger and now starts and runs.

Problems
windows will not operate up or down
door chimes do not work
temp, oil, batt, fuel gauges do not work

In the dash the red check eng lite is on along with the door adjar lite along with the check fuel cap lite.

When I put the multi meter on the batt I get 13.4 volts.

Now what? Is it something I can fix or reset or it Ford garage time for me? Thanks for any ideas!

I dodn't know if you have the same anti theft system or not but do you know the MAIN code? On my 1996 it is a little box about the size 5 x 6 x 1/2 inches big. It is in the left rear wall of the vehicle. You remove the plastic "tool storage" door and look in with a flash light. The MAIN number is on a big sticker on the box. It will be five numbers lomg.I found mine after the "Thieft" computer reset itself!!!!! ! Honk-honk-honk!!!!! ! Loads of fun. If you have a door entry key pad you just might. Jeffcat

First disconnect one side of the battery and leave off for a couple of minutes. Then re-connect and see if it resets the GEM module. You will have to reset radio memories and such and drive the car to reset the computer. If that does not help then you have an electrical problem that will require some troubleshooting.

Thanks for the help tech4, that did solve my problem. Disconnected the batt. and let it sit for a while, hooked it back up and now all the lites go out and the gauges work.

I am glad it worked - all computers need a power down when these glitches happen.

sorta like these danged things we're typing on... there's a problem...just pull the plug and stick it back in... works fine after that... the wife always says to call the service line, but my plug pulling always works... (don't tell the wife, LOL)
