While traveling by car yesterday, I overheard Senator Paul Simon discussing the energy crisis as a guest on a radio talk show. During the course of the discussion he stated that "A one cent increase in the cost of a gallon of gasoline would generate 1.2 billion dollars over the course of one year."

Just wanted to share that with you.
Steve

Hi Steve , Thanks for sharing that information with us. We all know someone is getting rich off this so called shortage. But no one really knows who to point the finger at. Probably many people. They keep the subject in termoil , so that no one figures it out. They hide behind the name OPEC. Typical political hiding practices. They can't show there faces , so they hide.

Our government is "one centing", "nickleing", "dimeing" and "dollaring" us to death. Time for a change to LOWER TAXES.

Last I saw here in PA $.91 of each dollar per gallon of gasoline is taxes. I don't recall what they are for heating fuel, LP and diesel.

BTW, some of the red die use to color the heating fuel and kero are gumming up the pumps and nozzels in furnaces and boilers.

So that's why it increased over 40 cents in the last few months. :)

Life time politicans are a big part of our problems in this country. Remember that at the polls, next time.
