Hey Gents, I bought this old log splitter made by Didier Mfg. from this fella out the road a ways. He tells me it's prolly 10 or 15 years old, she seems to work real good, but makes a whinin noise like a older Furd power steering pump. I took notice the hydraulic return hose was replaced with 3/4" automotive heater hose that was twisted and collapsed a bit. I'm gonna replace it with 2 short pieces of hyd. hose and a piece of pipe. My question is, should I flush out the old fluid, if so, how, and what kind of fluid should I put back in her. Thanks, Stoney

if it has a filter on it it will need to be replaced and make sure to replace the collapsed hose that is why it is whinning starving for fluid just drain old fluid out and put new hyd. fluid in and it should be fine
