I own an old Jonsereds SP49 Chainsaw, and I was wondering if anyone here knew what the factory recommended gas/oil mix ratio was. Thank you for your help.

Andrew: If you saw is a 49SP (or at least that's how it's listed on the page I linked) the recommended mix appears to be 25:1

Depending on the age of the saw, it may be a different mix than 40 to 1. I have a Poulan saw that my father bought in the early 80's and it's a 32 to 1 mix if I remember right. If you have a manual on the saw it should state the fuel to oil mixture or do a google search and see what it turns up. Just my .02 cents worth for whatever it may be worth.

I used to sell Jonsereds (10 years ago). I am not positive, but I think their recomendation was 40:1. Thats 40 parts gas to 1 part 2 cycle oil. Thats what I run all of my 2 cycle equipment at and have had good luck. If I am wrong, hopefully, someone else will jump in here and correct me. Gene
