I've looked around on the internet.. Everybody & their brother-in-law sells a 5 ton scissor hoist kit for $1100+ shipping. If it seems everyone sells it for $1100 there must be deals some where. Can anyone suggest a better priced source?

If you are going to mount a hoist kit , mount it a little more forward to get more picking power..The farther you mount it forward the less height and angle you will get , but it will pick more weight..Just 6" makes a great deal of difference in power..

Yep thats about it, but if you know some one that has one set up its not all that hard to copy it. Also big problem with them is they are very limited to how much they will dump. I had a friend years ago that had one on his 3/4 ton dodge and it would only lift about a ton if that much. Get any more on it and you would be out there with a shovel unloading it
