Anyone know where can I find a couple of plastic barrels? I'd like to use them for rain barrels. I'm in the northwest corner of Illinois.

To add to other suggestions, try your local garages and "jiffy lube" type places. Got mine from a shop where it had originally come with windsheild washer fluid in it.

Try a vet supply co. they get chemical in these all the time. Our local vet supply selld them for approx. $10.00 each I was told.

I have also seen them setting around hospitals, I know when I was in maintenance in a hospital, we recieved chemical for our boilers in them.

I got the last few from the ice cream plant. They had vanilla flavoring in them. Free for the taking. chris

I found some at a car wash. Used for detergent and rinse. Might not be good for drinking water. One has worked fine for mixing AMS into water for spraying.

If you want some level of safety to the water, pop bottlers (Pepsi, coke) and sometimes bakers if they are big enough accumulate more barrels than they can recycle back into the barrel stream. These have held syrup flavors or frosting ot the like, and are food-safe.

Pop bottlers esp are a good place to ask, seems to be one every 50 miles or so....

most oil suppliers will have them. you'll have to buy them, as there is a deposit on them.

Just be careful about what was in them!
