The gauge works on the rear tank but not on the front. I was wondering if there could be an easy fix to this. Also the truck needs aligning and am wondering how to tell if i should replace the tie rod ends..it has 125000. thanks

Not to be a smart a-- but most drivers can feel that their is smoething not right in the front end while driving, or if its that bad by the tire wear. Just because it has a few miles on it does not mean it may need new parts, may have had good maint. and easy driving cond. Is not the number of miles but how their were drove.

Crawl under and push, pull, and tug on the tie rods. If any rod moves independent of the ball its on, or doesn't move but drips rust, it needs tie rods. They didn't allow them to be lubricated. Some years have been recalled for inspection. A full set from Ford is probably $400. Probably half that in a parts store.

Be sure to grease the one fitting under there. It makes a bit difference in the steering.

Its easier to find loose tie rod ends with the front wheels in the air.

The easy fix is to run on the tank with bad gauge until you run out then use tank with working gage. LOL!!

COuld be a bad connection at tank. Otherwise probably have to drop tank and put in new sender.
