Have an old Sear's rototiller, just finished shiming the clutch assembly as the material was worn and the tines would stop in the soil. Took it back out to the garden dug real nice for about 10 minutes, noticed a puff of white smoke thought I had gone through some fire place ash that I had tossed into the garden. Noticed another puff, worked the tiller over to the side of the garden and shut it down, it was still running fine. Noticed it was down a little on oil. Addded oil went to pull start, no luck. THe engine is locked up tighter than can be. Finished the two gardens with a small 9" Ryobi, what a job. ALmost afraid to pull apart the Sears unit. Wonder what I'll find. Never a dull moment in the country, just got to love it. Once I open I'll need to decide if it's worth trying to fix or if I should just start looking for a rear tine unit.

I have a Sears Robuck & co. (ROTO SPADER)
Mod # 785-629051-299
Just got half my garden tilled and the Main gear driven by the worm gear has finally worn out. Do anyone know where I can get a new one? I did a engine rebuild three years ago and it works just fine. The age of it is unknown by me but I guess it's in the Model #. This thing works so sweet I can't throw it out. After all I'm ageing too ( I like my older things).
Thanks for any help
