Lacquer clean up thinner

Cheap clean up lacquer thinner is used for cleaning the gun. Most people buy it by the 5 gallon can at the automotive paint store. Last time I think it was about $30 for 5 gallons. You"ll use about half a quart each time you clean. Wear Nitrile gloves to protect your hands. Latex gloves will not work as they dissolve very quickly when they hit thinner. I have my paint station set up with an old 5 gallon thinner can with a funnel to dump paint and primer that wasn"t used as well as the dirty thinner from cleaning. I also dump the new thinner into 1 gallon rectangular cans for easier dispensing.
1. pour any remaining paint out into your scrap can.
2. pour a few ounces of thinner into your cup and swish it around and dump in scrap bin. Repaeat if necessary.
3. pour a few ounces of thinniner into yoru cup and pull the trigger while holding over the scrap can until the flow changes from paint to thinner. continue until if runs rather clear.
4. connect air and give it a shot or two.
5.Learn how to dissassemble your gun for cleaning. The cap, nozzle and needle should get soaked in a cup with thinner. Also same goes for a prefilter if you have one. 6. with thinner on a blue paper towel, wipe out your cup and clean the lid (mine is a gravity feed with a lid).
7. clean out the inside of your gun with brushes and thinner as needed.
8. Reassemble gun.
