C-Clips & J-Clips are used a few places on tractor sheetmetal. The J-Clip has only half the top section compared to a C-Clip. How do you determine which one to use?
Thanks

So..... ...

These are the little retaining type of sheet metal deals folded over that have a barb or 2 to catch the threads of a bolt & keep bits of sheet metal in place? They slip over the edge of the sheet metal with a hole in it?

Take a look at Au-ve-co Products. They make those and call them U & J nuts. There are spring type U nuts, U type special nuts, J type cage nuts, Extruded U nuts (foldover nuts) in inch or metric sizes. Also flat nuts that some call pal nuts. Others you might check with are millsupply.com or mcmaster.com

compare them when they are totaly different.
It's supposed to be U-clip, Dummy, not C-Clip. So I will rephrase the question: When do you use a U-clip and when do you use a J-clip? Hope this helps.

Geez... you need to calm down. All he did was ask a question. If he knew the answer already, he wouldn't be asking now, would he????

Calling people "dummy" is really just pathetic and inappropriate. :(

Sometimes we fail to see things untill it's too late. The question was proof read and the error was still not seen. And sometimes we also fail to read "every last word" of a post. Especially the one pointing out the error.
Hope this helps.
