OK - this is a little out there, but lots of folks on here have good ideas...

So, I was given a perfectly good hand operated pallet jack. I dont move any pallets at home, no more snowmobiles, etc to slide out of the way.... so the ? is:

does anyone have any good "conversion" ideas for something like this??

I have the same thing one that the jack part was no longer usable,so I locked it in the full up position and have mounted my real heavy homeade built tool chest on it. Works very nice

They are handy, one thing to remember is when raised, can be a little tippy by the jack end, ever stand on the corners of an empty pallet by the jack end ? Other than that, I was thinking the scooter idea in a humorous way, see someone thought of that, we used to ride them on the midnight shift at the grocery store, those and the electric ones. Drawing a blank on any alternative uses, but I'd not part with one of those, nice when you need it, and maybe a portable shop table is not a bad idea, I could see that working.

Big heavy all steel welding/work table could be set against the wall or rolled to the middle of the shop floor or outside if you have a concrete slab. I was also given an old pallet jack and this is my plans if I can scrap up enough steel to build it. Would like for it to be 4' x 8'. Thicker the better for the top.

I put all shop equipment ( table saw planers welder air compressor on and storage cabinets on 4X6 or 6X 6 wood runners .I then can move them effortlessly with pallet jack This does 3 things for me, It raise my work height up 6 inches ( I am 6 foot 3 and it helps my back.)I can move tools any place I want to clean floor or to paint floor (Yearly) or move out side on concrete pad to work in natural sun light. This also saves fast amounts of cash from buying locking swivel casters as well. It also make most tools much more stable on the wood runners I have made custom skids for all my 3PT equipment which lets me store things tighter using less space and makes it easy to install all 3pt equipment on the tractor by my self easier.

They make a fun adult scooter and since most are rated at 5 thousand pounds capacity it's hard to overload it! Before you do it though, I might suggest wearing steel toe shoes..... don't let the boss see you..... ..don't let the wife see you..... .don't let the neighbor see you.....and most importantly..... .don't drink and roll.

they are handy for getting tires on and off of trucks and tractors. great for duals too!

I striped one down to the basic frame and made a carryall/fork lift out of it by attaching bolt on lower link pins. I still have to weld an attachment point on the top for the third point and then I can use a hydraulic cylinder to keep it level.

Just off the top of my head, you could frame up some sort of work table on it. Then it would be adjustable in height, up high for little things, lower for big things.
