When you ask for the price on an X' x X' x X' building it will include 1 walk door, 1 drive door opening and a 1 in 12 roof pitch.

Windows, skylights, rollup door, 3 in 12 roof, eave overhang, gutters, insulation, wiring, etc. are extras. Ask me how I know. Oh, I forgot, no slab or foundation footing, either. And no bathroom.

Are You asking for recommendations about dealers such as MBCI or Metal Mart? If so it is a competitive market place and most obtain steel products from common suppliers. In the southwest most purlins and tubing are imported from Mexico. Talk to some of the people in Your immediate area and find out which dealer has the happy or unhappy customers.

I'm building a haybarn using steel sheets on tubing and purlin. I think I'll get most of my material from Mueller. I don't know of any bad suppliers around northeast Texas, but I have had a problem locating the sizes and quantity of stuctural steel I'll need. I drove 100 miles this morning to pick up a load of steel which I had called ahead for a price on. (This is from a small-town individual supplier.) When I got there I gave them the list of materials and told them it was for ag use. The guy at the desk said if it was for dairy cattle or laying hens they wouldn't charge tax. I told him it was for hay for beef cattle and that is ag use. He said it would be taxed. I left with an empty trailer and a promise that I would not be back. The best price is not always the lowest price.

If it was me, that building's use woulda been converted to dairy cattle AND laying hens on the spot! Could always change my mind about what I was gonna use if for later....;)
