About the only thing that they will do for your car is to keep it from getting pregnant . They will also lighten your wallet.

You may also hear ads for a air "tornado" that takes only minutes to install that claims to do the same thing.

Looks a lot like Grandmothers flour sifter with a cookie cutter inside.

It's a better sifter than fuel saver and the darn things are expensive.

Say, lucky I read this...I happen to be in the market for both a bridge AND some AZ seaside property. Let me know how much you're asking and I'll send a cashier's check immediatly. Of course, the check will be for several thousand more than the amount and I'll want you to wire the excess money back to me. Oh, if you're interested too, I have an uncle who died who was a king of a small middle-eastern country and very rich and we're looking for honest individuals in U.S.Merica to transfer his funds into their accounts temporarily. You get to keep 15% of his billion dollar fortune, just email your account number....Isn't capitalism great?

Disclaimer- the above is ALL sarcasm!!!

I bought a pickup a few years ago to restore, had a blowen 454 in it, anyway put in a small block I built. Never give a though to the pills I found behind the seat{add to gas} till I went to start it up, man I had gas every where and in short time a fire manged to get it out but sure woke me up. Now I don't know what was in them their pills but it was a added pain to replace every rubber fuel line for saddel tanks. If it sounds to good to be true, yep you know it.

I've read that adding a small amount of acetone to a full tank of gas will improve your mileage but I have'nt tried it.

This one might actually be true:
Link
Link
However you'd have to balance the cost of the acetone against the 1-2mpg gain...
Plus its got some downsides:
Link
which is really just them saying be careful...

Interestingly I can't find anybody saying NOT to use acetone which is fairly unusual for this sort of mpg increaser.
I may just try some, a gallon of Acetone is what $15?

They tried that on Mythbusters a week or 2 ago and it made the mpg worse. Pretty much everything they tried had no effect or made the mpg even worse than it was, and they tried them on both carburated and fuel injected cars.

Most of these wonderful things to help you get better milage will tell you that in addition to the pill, or whatever other addititave, you need to avoid jack rabbit starts, excessive speeds, keep the tires inflatted properly and they will work like a charm. It will work just as well without the addititave if you do all those other things but they try to make you think it is their product.

A friend told me this story: He had an uncle that traveled around, during the 30's, selling Pills that you could add to water, thus running a car off of water. He had a hidden gas tank in his car, but it appeared it ran off of water and the "Pills" As soon as he sold a few, he had to hurry up and get out of town... Story has it that he made a good living for a while...

Back in 1963 I bought some of those and put them in my Studebaker Champion straight six. They did not work. After tearing down the engine I could see why. Every ring was broken into little pieces about 1/2" long.

If anyone buys it, let me know! I now have the Brooklyn Bridge and I would like to sell it. They might want it also.
