have several machines with hi pressure hydraulics that require 4 braid hose. No one within 50 miles does it. I'd like to buy my own crimper and stock what fittings we use. What is a good source of fittings and hose? I'm in Florida so shipping is a consideration. used machines are cheap on E-bay but I want to match it to the supplies I can get. Any ideas?

You might check with your local auto parts stores to see if they could set you up. I talked with one of our's a little bit about it last spring, they were looking at changing suppliers and with the new supplier they were looking at (I think it was Goodyear) when you bought a new crimper for every dollar worth of fittings and hose that you bought they would take half a dollar off the price of the crimper. I didn't look into it far enough to get actuall prices but the numbers the salesman threw around made it look like that by the time a person bought enough supplies to make it worth having your own crimper a new crimper would have cost about the same or even less than a used one off ebay.

Check with kimballmidwest.com, we have kimball products at work and some of the other shops of ours have a portable hose crimper that you can take right to the machine and crimp on a new end once the old one is cut off. chris

Parker hannifin and weatherhead are two companies that carry hose and fittings I'm sure there are others just suggestions could also see what AIS or some of them have to get fittings when you come across an odd ball or are out .
