So right on Spybot and AdAware. These are recommended free antispyware programs.

Lenray,

Searchit is a hacker program and can cause some serious problems--remove it ASAP. I use Spybot and it works well. It will tell you what spyware/malware was found during the scan. After downloading, do an immediate update before running the program.

Also, I would quit using Internet Explorer and switch to Firefox for your browser.

If you are using internet explorer, go to tools, internet options, then it will have a place to set your home page there.

As others are saying, this could be a 'home page hijacker'. They will install 3 differentr ways of diverting themselves in your computer, and can be very difficult to remove. You need to remove all 3 parts of it, or it will come back again, from any of the 3.

Hopefully you got it the easy way. If not, go to google, search for the name of the web site plus 'remove' or some such, and you should get some shelpful sites that will outline the best way to remove that particular nasty.

Lenray: If it keeps changing, you've got some form of spyware that installed itself on your computer. If you don't already have them, download and run "Spybot Search and Destroy" and "Ad-aware". Both oare free downloads and are a good first step toward getting rid of the problem.
