Anyone seen any posting by Glardon? He was helping me with my old sa 200 (getting it to excite), and all of a sudden we lost contact and I have not seen any post of his. Any one else got with advice on how to get it to excite? Any help appreciated.

Go to a Welding supply shop, tell them what you have and they will advise. Usually it will be using a small chalk stick, that they sell. Take the bonnet off and let the stick rub on the armature while its running. Sure worked for me.
