Garage door opener revisited

I replaced the gear in my Sears garage door opener and greased it. The original was NOT GREASED from the factory.

I checked on the other opener on the 18' x 8' door that I had replaced the gear some time ago. It looked good but I had greased it with grease supplied with new gears.

Might want to check your opener and see if worm and gear is greased. Just have to take out 8 screws on the opener. I used Mobil 1 synthetic as recommended by earlier post.
