I'm looking at a Makita drill that uses a Ni-MH battery. Do these batteries offer a longer overall service life that standard batteries?

I think it's Ridgid tools that offers a lifetime warrenty that also covers the batteries.

Yup, they give a lifetime warranty on the batteries. They don't tell you that it is for the lifetime of the battery which is only 3 years

Try two to three times better! My Sony pro video camera uses the lithium batteries and in the summer I will get a couple of hours out of a bat. no problem! Well worth the cost. Jeffcat
