I'm working on a John Deere L Block that had a Plate srewed to the block to fix a leak . I removed this and see what looks like porosity .
I would like to fix this and fill the screw holes in . Have no leaks and look good when done . Will be painted green after .
Thanks in advance

I like the epoxy idea the best. I would epoxy some screws in the screw holes so you aren't using one big blob of epoxy. Neal

Thanks for your tips . I'll give the JB Weld
a try ,. Never tried it but sounds like a good option . You can not even see an obivious leak on this block ...

Bob, I don't have experience with the spray powder, but I saw it demonstrated at a farm show. It seemed to work real well on an old exhaust manifold. The torch attatchment was about $350 (2 years ago. I don't remember what the powder costs.

I have welded a few cast parts with nickle arc 55 rods.

I am a welder and would recomend staying away from welding it if at all possible.Cast block is not something to practice on.
I did a Int 340 block over 15 yrs ago with JB weld. Now They have a quick set that works well for verticle or side repairs that doesn't slide off as easy. You can V the crack or bad spot out a little with a grinder for extra material to be in the bad area.Once set you can smooth oout and also give it a rough cast look and then paint.

Good luck,al
