When I was younger, working on old forklifts, we used a product called Water Glass. Got it at the drug store. Something intended for candling eggs. It is like liquid silica. Anyway, we'd put it in the radiators of old leaky lift trucks. When nothing else worked, this stuff did and amazingly so. I've seen water leaks that looked like someone had opened up a garden hose and Water Glass stopped the leak in seconds. We never found any drawback to the stuff that I recall, it just lined the water jacket with glass, more or less. Good luck finding it.

Walmart out here in C. Oregon carries "Liquid Glass" in their stopleak, antifreeze department.
Don't remember what name it's called, but have seen it there recently.

I am waiting to see the first time stop leak works with aluminum block or head. Tried and tried and got tired.

Anybody know the proper product and procedure to use to add sealer in the pressurized overflow tank system on my 99 Sable? Some products specifically state not to use them in such a system.

IRON TITE, works super well. At this point, you dont have much to lose.

stop leak is not the answer, do it right.

It makes a total mess of the cooling system.

If Explorer is in good, and you want to keep it, then consider getting it fixed properly. I you "patch" it with stop leak of some sort, it will let you down, maybe at a bad time and bad place, never fails. Tom
