Which type of air hose coupler to use?

I'm back with another question: Back when I finished building my air compressor, I went with automotive/Trueflate style couplers for my equipment. I think they're OK, other than a little hard to get lined up. Every tool I've bought used or new has come with industrial type fittings. Is there any type that's better than the other? Pros/cons? Who is most likely to use which kind?

I'm thinking about switching so I can save some cash on buying new fittings.

Thanks

Hey guys, it's easier than that! Just use the same ones that your employer uses or some big air tool shop in your area uses. My choice was made by the aircraft companies in calif. The west coast seemed to go for MIlton M type while the type A is more common here in upstate NY. Thus I have some adaptor hoses so I can hook to local air. Course if we get really bored with this, we can always discuss the merits of which hydraulic coupler is best or most used or liked.....

JUST A THOUGHT ON DIFFERENT STYLES OF COUPLERS, OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP SELLS A UNIVERSAL FEMALE COUPLER THAT ACCEPTS ALL 3 STYLES OF COUPLERS SO NOW I DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHICH ONE MY TOOL IS EQUIPED WITH

NAPA carries that universal, but I'm skeptical of one-size-fits-all stuff.

The universal one we got from snap-on are the cats meow! Not only do they fit any coupling but you just plug them in . No need to pull back the sleeve. Great for those one handed times.

Hi Max , the universal ones sound like they are probably ok. But I feel the same way you do. "D" is a very common one. That's what I have.
