Pneumatic hydraulic jack

I just bought a used engine hoist with a pneumatically operated hydraulic ram. Connect the lift to my 3horse compressor and it is supposed to raise the ram to pull the engine. I bought it used so I can't complain but the pneumatic part does not work.( I have to use the hand operated jack to raise the boom arm) Any body else had a problem with this and is there an obvious cure. I have taken it apart and I can't figure out the problem. Thanks

I've used several of them for awhile now and they seem to be kind of temperamental. The two best things you can do is keep them oiled and keep them warm. It can work fine one minute and then turn around and give a fit for awhile. Then it will start working fine again. The cheap ones aren't worth bothering with, but the expensive ones seem to keep chugging along although they will have their mood swings. Jim

You need dryer air. The air side is iceing up.
