Interior House Paint

This summer I hope to finish off my garage, (wiring, insulate, sheeting, etc.). I have accumulated many gallons of high quality "off white" paint. Will this work as my base paint, in place of primer? Sheeting will be drywall ceiling and probably 1/4" plywood walls.

latex works fine on drywall but i always use oil base kiltz on wood for primer to prevent bleeding then u can use latex over that.

I haven't used Kilz primer in years. It is a good product but you need to be well ventilated and use a good respirator. At least that was my experience. That stuff just about wiped out all my brain cells.

you could hit all the knots with shellac before you hit it with the latex. That should keep the bleed through to a minimum. I don't know what sealers you have on hand poly may also work if that's all you have.
