Curiosity finally got me and I clicked the link to the trailer. I suspect it cost between $1500 to $2500 for all materials. The time involved is dependent on welding ability and help available to assist with locating/holding/moving the large heavy components. Personally I don't like the gooseneck type hitch, I converted my trailer to 5th wheel, because it's easier to hook up and I already had the hitch for my 30ft. RV. I would like to see the 1/2T. Ford he used to pull "thousands of miles". What was hauled that didn't violate the max. CGWVR of the truck? The insurance companies would clap with glee if they found out their insured was hit by an overloaded truck/trailer combo.; but it's not like theres a lawyer on every street corner---. That's my thoughts on the ad.

Biggest advantage to a gooseneck hitch is it will allow more independant rocking motion, such as when driving thru a pasture

There are some ideas that should just remain "one of a kind...." (I linked, I saw...)

Well if making a 20 foot trailer rather than buying a new one. how much would you save?

Trailer building is pretty competitive. You'll be hard pressed to buy the axles, lighting, steel, welding rod & electricity & save anything. The builders buy in bulk & keep a fairly low mark-up.
