What do these things do? Looks like a drill press?

Boring cylinders in an engine for over sized pistons or sleeves.

Those bars are most of 10 grand new , if one of them was an FL I'd be all over it . I have an FN that came thru some of uncle sam's disposal
systems, it was new in the crate and had never had oil in the transmission. Kwik-way is the cadillac of portable bars.

Hi George I bet you can't get a new one for 10 grand.I just bought a FL last spring & haven't even got to use it yet. To many things going on at once. I'd buy one of those but most of the boreing is on JD 2 cyls.
Kwik-way is also the only co left to get parts for.

Larry, An FL would make my life easier , I've had a

run on boring 2 cyl jd blocks . Didn't used to

see many , but now I'm the only shop in the area

that can bore them. I use an FT bar with the

3:1 gear reduction between the motor and the

bar, also has several longer sets of fingers.

So far it has done everything that has come

in the door , R,A,620,630, and a couple of G's.

boring a G takes all but about 1/8 of the

bar travel . FN is a newer version of the FT,

I have an FN and also a VN 777 & 944.

I finally bought the extensions for the sunnen

hone , it does help in the big bores. If the

holes get too big and long I have a horizontal

boring mill that will do it ( 3" spindle lucas).

If you stumble over an FL bar for sale , give me

a shout .

george

Well, I don't hang out in bars any more, but when I did, I preferred the exciting ones to the boring ones.

(Sorry, couldn't resist)
