not so much now, but in the past i have purchased many craftsman hand and powered tools. most seemed of good quality and some lasted over 30 years. i see in their tool catalog that a lot of tools say "imported" at the bottom of the discription paragraph. NOW, if a tool does NOT say "imported", does that mean it is made in the United States of America? some tools that DO NOT say imported have a price similiar to the imported tools. how can they sell them at that price if they are genuine american made?

Most of the hand-held Craftsman power tools are made by TTI (Ryobi, Ridgid, Milwaukee) and are about on par with Ryobi. Fopr my $$$$, I would (and do) look elsewhere. Ridgid has been a great value.

As far as hand tools, there are those that cannot think of turning a bolt unless they are holding something that is branded "Snap On." For my money, the Craftsman Professional hand tool line (wrenches) has been pretty good.

I have not seen a Craftsman power tool made in the USA for many years, I think the odds that any of them are is preety low. Most of the mechanics tools still are us made.
