I just bought a Wards Power Craft 10 inch radial arm saw from a garage sale for $40. It runs good too. Model number is TPC 2610A. I have never seen or heard this brand before. Anyone know anything about this brand.

Wards was a Chicago based company like Sears. Actually, they started a few years earlier with a catalog, later with department stores.

They went bankrupt about 60 days ago after years of struggling.

I assume that's "PowrKraft", right? The company that made some of MW's tools is still selling parts. It's called "ToolKraft" or something like that. That have a website with a phone number.

I have a Ward's router that recently failed. It was a good to tool until that point.

If I remember, that was the "brand" of Montgomery Wards tools, like Sears is called Craftsman. When I was a kid, Wards had a full line of branded tools, guns, sporting goods, appliances, etc.

DUANE,
I have one just like it, paid $50.00 from my wifes uncle, I have had mine for about 12 years and I use it on and off with no problems, I am not much of a carpenter but I do know that it does what I want just fine. I had to replace the switch with a standard button micro switch. Other than that I've been happy with mine.

I have a Sears radial arm saw circa 1963(can't find serial number). I have set and reset the rip fence until I am 'blue in the face' and cannot keep it square. Once I move the radial arm to 45 degrees either way and back to 90 degrees the blade is not square. I inherited the saw and I have known it since new. No manual. All the locks and sets are released and readjusted for each move. The saw is powerful and a great supplement to my table saw. HELP
