My son came home for the holidays with his girl friend and their dog....a Pit Bull. He kept his dog in the back yard during his visitI was glad my son and his family spent time with us during the holidays. wouldn't trade it for anything.

Yesterday I was in the backyard and noticed something on the ground; a closer look revealed it was a lawn mower carburetor. Last summer I fixed a couple of push mowers folks in the neighborhood threw out...I was feeling good that I gotem running and was ready for the upcoming grass cutting season. Well, when I went over to check on mowers I found the pull starting ropes missing, tires chewed to the point of nothing left, and the carb missing on one of them.

Bottom Line: Instead of the saying the dog ate my homework. which I tried on a teacher a time or two while growing up. now when its time to cut the grass I get to tell the wife the dog ate my lawn mower.. Life is the journey, not the final destinationJ

Man, you had me going for a second! I was hoping your lawnmower wasn't a sheep or a goat! Glad it was just real mower parts etc.

Those pit bulls can't be trusted. Hair triggered, strong & vicious.

B&D, you are correct!!! Having a Pit Bull is a good way to get sent to the Slammer, or to lose everything you own in a lawsuit... Seldom a month goes by, that there is not a case of a Pit Bull mauling or killing a child, in our area..

BIL's dog chased a woodchuck under a bushhog stored under a shed, while later I moved the bushhog and found a hole under there the size of a small elephant

dog had pushed a Troybilt horse rototiller about 2 feet sideways and started digging

same dog tried to dig out a skunk under a woodpile, dog got sprayed in the face 2x but kept after that skunk until the dog reached it and ate it hide and all

This happened over period of time. For several visits to my brothers I'd end up with a tire problem, either a flat on the way home or the next day. since it was always sidewall damage I was blaming the sharp rocks in his lane. Finally one time I was there in the daytime doing his chores while he was away. Just as I was leaving his blue heeler, which was normally friendly toward me, walked over to my pickup grabbed the front tire and gave the truck a good shake. After confronting brother dear he admitted "Oh yeah, he'd also gotten a neigbor and the UPS guy."

Couple years ago The UPS man dropped off the vacuum wiper motor for a 1955 Cadillac I was workig on, the dog beat me to it. Those things are as rare as hen's teeth so it still went on the car, complete with chew marks in the aluminum housing.

Tell your son that his dog needs to eat better or more. Maybe throw him a cat or two.

Only one cure for those kinds of dogs! Well. maybe 2 or 3 or 4! They all work, sooner or later!
