I thought this thread was about no type of plastic markings on the plastic fuel cans.
Now why do they not have HDPE or somesuch marked on them ?

I just carefully measured in one gallon of gas and then marked the can with a sharpie marker.
Since I have a couple of different ratios of mixes I mark all my mix can as to what power tool the are for. Just in case the wife or someone else uses them.

I have a I 1 gal gas can that I use only for mixed gas. I have marked it for 1 gal were I can fill from the 5 gal if it is unhandy to take it to get it filled. I don't ever mix 5 gal at a time. (don't have a need to) . Ken B.

Hello baler46,
I feel the same way and most of the time I haven't found a marking on the smaller fuel cans either. I usually mix either one or two gallons for chainsaw and weedeater and will have to measure it from the pump when I put it in the can. Unfortunately whenever I get someone to fill the can for me when I am busy they don't understand when I say "one gallon or two gallons only". Take care and good luck.
Jim
