Looking for any information on the above valve grinder as I have just come into possession of one and can't find any information on it. I am especially interested in the age of this machine.

I've got three Sioux valve refacers. My oldest is a dry machine Model 620. I have another similar but with an oil-tank and pump for wet refacing - model 645. It was built 1953. And a more modern model - with two motors - an AC motor that runs the stones, and a variable speed DC motor that runs the valve-chuck. Model # 2001.
I've had no trouble gettting parts for any of them. I've been buying from Woodward Equipment. They have online Sioux parts catalogs - at woodwardequipment dot com . Also, Sioux still has its own website with catalogs - just go to SiouxTools dot com

I know quite a lot about one. I cut my first valve seats with one and would give a lot to have one again. My dad bought one new just outside of Houston Tx for his small repair shop in about 1959. He gave quite a bit for it but don't remember the exact figure. Somewhere in the last two years the machine got away from him (someone lifted it from his place in Texas). I ground many valves and cut lots of seats with it. We still have the seat grinding set. If you are interested in getting rid of yours please email me.

I grew up with one of those Sioux machines. I am not sure about parts, but, keep the machine. There isn't a part on that machine that can't be made by any good machine shop, if'N, you can't buy the part thru one of the new suppliers.

The machine that I grew up with was sold at public auction for $2.00. HTH..John,PA

Oh yea. The age of your machine should be about 50 yrs plus. Makes for an awful good "milling" machine. Only problems are belts and maybe the electric motor.

Call Snap-On. Those crooks sell the stones and pilot shafts and parts for Sioux valve grinders and seat grinders. I have a parts catalouge but it's out in the garage. If you email me I'll see if I can find it tomorrow and scan it and send it to you.

Hi. Years ago Snap-On bought Sioux. I don't know the model off hand, but many years ago I bought a Sioux wet-dry valve grinder at an auction for $140.00. Charley.
