Has anyone tried bending copper pipe? I'm thinking you should be able to anneal it by heating and cooling it, and then use a regular pipe bender. I hoping for some advice before I ruin a chunk of that expensive 1/2 and 3/4 inch pipe.

Jerry,
I worked in refrigeration for too many years and bent a lot of copper tubing. Go slowly using type "L" copper and you'll be ok. The thin wall type "M" will crush and kink. There are geared benders just for this purpose. Most rental places should have one and with a little care, you can make just about any angle or offset you need. If you are looking to do something tighter than one of these will allow, use soft tubing and a spring type bender( a tubular spring you slip over the copper before you bend it to prevent kinks. You usually have to twist it off like a nut). You can do a lot of cool shapes with it.
If you want mare details, let me know, I'll be glad to help.
