Have a Dayton 1 hp electric motor that I need to change from counter clockwise to clockwise. Right now wires 1/2/8 are together and 3/4/5 are together. The schematic plate on the motor is faded so bad I can"t read it. Motor number is 6k060. Can anybody help me? Thank you.

Hey I got to looking closer at your question. Ugly's shows that for CCW 2, 4 & 5 should be together and 1, 3 & 8 should be together. Check you wires. Anyway switch 5 and 8 to reverse.

Switch wires 5 and 8. This will almost always be the case on single phase motors.

On a different note If you want to switch to 230 volt. tie 2 3 & 8 together, hook one line to 4&5 and the other to 1

This is a standard hook up. I got my info from "Ugly's Electrical References". Neat little handbook for just this sort of question. Worth picking up a copy got mine off ebay.

Try calling Grainger @ 1-800-323-0620.

They should be able to help you, or direct you to a source of the diagrams.
