OT HOOKED BATTERY UP BACKWARDS

Have this 1988 Ski-Doo that we are getting out and ready to sell.
Hasn't been run since 01 except for starting a couple times each year with the sta-bil in it.
Put the battery in today and put the positive wire on the neg. post and the neg. on the pos.
STUPID I KNOW It didn't start of course so I pulled the cord and it started on the first pull and ran for 5 minutes hooked up wrong.
It blew a 30 amp fuse just before the starter BUT I am wondering if I did any other damage--can't replace the fuse until morning.
Thanks It will pull start and the lights work without the battery installed.

Hey don't feel bad we've all don things like that at one time or the other.My guess is that it wasn't harmed. Change the fuse and see what happens.O before you bolt the battery cables just touch them gently toconnections and check for sparks.LOL

Thank Ski-Doo for putting a fuse in the accessory feed. If your lucky,the fuse blew before the diodes in the rectifier/regulator burned up. try a new fuse,there may be no damage as everything seems to work.
