Does anyone know if a company makes thin mechanic friendly heated gloves. I have some thick heated gloves but they are too clumsy for doing repairs like a water pump on my F250.

IF i can't wear gloves I just have to wait till it warms up. When I was living in Ks I had a horrible time keeping my hands warm in the winter. Five minutes at 20 degrees or colder and my fingers were like ice. Then I would suffer blackouts when they were warming up. Heated gloves are a must for me in cold weather. Now day I just wait till it warms up.

Being a Minnesotan you must have seen people who cut just the tips of the working fingers off of their gloves. It makes a big difference, if you are only exposing a small amount of skin area to the cold and preserving heat by covering the rest. Not to go into a lot of detail here but if you study the three laws of thermodynamics, you will get it.

How about just wearing the mechanic's gloves. I have a pair of gojo brand and have done work with them in cold weather and they keep your hands comfortable.

I cannot do any work of that nature while wearing gloves. The gloves just get in the way and then I start dropping and losing the small hardware. Before I had a shop that I could heat, I would just bring the tools and the new parts into the house and get them warmed up good before starting the project. While working, put the tools you are not using in your pockets to keep them warm.

I have poor circulation. My shop is part of a barn and not anywhere near a house. I think I'd start making thin heated mechanics gloves if I had the money to do it.
