O/T Plane - Update after fire pictures

The plane is going back together. I'm kind of happy about that. I think I can get it in the air this summer. I figured I'd show off where I'm up to. The plan is to have it completed and painted this time, before it goes back out to the airport. For those that didn't see the first posts, it was involved in a fire at the hanger. This after being built for 9 years. I'm working like a fiend though and it will fly soon. Check out the pictures.

I fixed the history of N966RV building. I had very big pictures in the document. It was over 7 meg in size. Now it's under a meg so it loads better. My friens were complaining it took too long to load. Sorry.

That looks like a nice little bird, too bad about the fire, with any luck you can get her back in the air without too much trouble, seems like you are alway's attatched to an airplane even if you only flew it for a few hours, you remember everything about it years later, want to build a nice kitplane in a couple years if I can find the time.

Hey Richard -

How bad did the damage turn out to be? Did the fire really take the temper out of the skin like you worried about?

Was it just clean and repair wiring? Or did you have to start over from ground zero??

Been wondering how that turned out,

I had the plane tested by an aerospace company in my area. They test F18 bulkheads and the like. They went over the entire plane and it came out OK. So it's clean and paint. I replaced the top cowling, the canopy, wing tips and spinner. I also changed every nut and bolt in the plane. All the fabric and rugs and I'm repainting everything. The wiring is fine. I'm just replacing all the crimped ends. luckily I left enough slack.

WOW! What a lot of work! Looks like your doing the kind of hyper-
thorough job planes require. I admire people who build airplanes. I'm not sure I have the ability to stay focused long enough to see it through to the end.
Spend some time with a flight advisor.
