i am wanting to build a metal cutoff saw from an old circular saw with a metal cutting wheel. i had saw some plans at one time, but lost track of them. does anyone have or know of any plans to build one for home hobby metal cutting? most of my cutting is 1/8" and 3/16" thick mild steel.

They make a set up that uses a saw like that and turns it into an radial arm saw. I know that set up would work for you. Or you could just brake down and buy a chop saw. I've seen chop saws at habor fright go from $70-170. I have Buffalo chop saw that I picked up for $100. Now for the small stuff and things that will not fit in the chop saw I use a circular saw with a metal cut off wheel and I just use it like I would if cutting wood with it and been doing that for years and it works just fine. Other then the fact that the saws burn them selfs up fast then if you used them on wood
