It`s a little exspensive, but it works great!! But like the rest, becareful around paint, rubber, plastics, ect.. I use a lot of it!! < Randy >

I use simple green or diesel with a wire brush and a putty knife.

OIL EATER and Super Clean (Later in purple spray bottle by STP?) I like both of them better than SG. Pete

I heard that oven cleaner works (never tried it myself) but I also heard that it destroys paint and wiring and anything else made of rubber (heard that from someone who did try it!!)

: My experience is that oven cleaner takes everything but the metal. Also a mixture of household lye and water gives the same result and is much cheaper. Don't let it near paint you want to keep!!!

- I've used kerosene, paint thinner, concentrated detergents,
etc. I think the best is kerosene mixed with a commercial
cleaner like 409. Put it in a tank sprayer, spray, soak and hose/pressure blast off.

I've heard that the best thing to do is to get a metal container, fill
it about 1/2 with water, mix in 4 or 5 small cans of Drano (caustic soda)
and heat it up to about 150 degrees with a hotplate or something.
Let the parts soak for a couple hours and presto - completely degreased.
This is the basics for a "hot tank" commonly used by auto rebuild shops.

Good Luck,
Dav
