Newbie, Quincy 210 Compressor

I have an older Quincy 210 compressor. I"ve never had a compressor so I"m not sure about operation. After searching this board I found that the largest motor this will except is a 2 horse running at 850 rpm"s which I now have it running at.

Is it a bad idea to run an older compressor at it"s maximum output? What should the discharge temperature be like at the head? It seems rather high although I have not measured it and it makes me wonder if I"m going to destroy it. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Hope you changed the oil and put in straight 30wt non detergent. Make sure the air filter is new or nice and clean. Drain the water out of the tank every so often. Pat it on the head good night. That should be about all you need. Jeffcat

It's running within spec, nothing to worry about. It's a single stage compressor, so it will run hot, no matter what you do.
