I have a 1.5 Sears portable air compressor. It worked fine 2-3 days ago but now when I plug it in all I hear is a buzz. What are some possible problems to check? Thanks.

Are you by chance trying to use an extension cord? Some compressors don't get enough amperage to run on cords. Must be plugged close and longer air lines used.

Happy New Year.

Wondering if yours has an unloader switch, and if it is operating properly?

Belt or derect drive type. If its belt drive can you turn both the motor and compressor by hand?? Does it have a starting capacitor on it, if it does it may have gone bad and it would do just that if it was. Really need more info from you to have a better guess
