I found a complete miller 130(1993) under the mac tools brand name for $100. It has the bottle, cart, etc. Only problem is I cannot get the wire to feed, or throw an arc. I've checked the fuse, and also the thermostat. Both are working. There is a coil that is located near the cooling fan that is in bad shape. Any ideas? The fan runs (on for awhile, then off, on awhile, then off, etc)I hate to pass this up for only $100. What problem areas should I be looking for?

Hi 357, Try jumping the two wires that come out of the gun as these are the trigger switch. From what the schmetics show looks like you'll have to take the gun apart for switch access or pull the case cover and see the wires.

The fan is thermostaticaly controlled so when the transformer gets warm the fan kicks on, so it apperars to be working correct.

T_BONE; I had the schematics faxed to me...I already tried to jumper the gun leads, no luck there. I also jumpered the thermostat. If you look on the schematics next to "FM" (fan motor) there is a coil marked 24v. This coil has a bad burn spot on top of it. (I'm assuming this coil is the one right next to the fan motor) When the fan stops running, you can see a little bit of smoke rising from the coil. Also, the pilot light inside the cabinet is not lit. Keep trying guys!

Hi 357, I don't have a set of schematics and downloaded a "french" version on the net, the English version costs $15, LOL. No wiring diagram was included tho. In the parts list the only coil listed was transformer but that was the newest line of 130 machines so yours may be different.

If you can e-mail me a copy of your wiring diagram I'll be able to tell you where to test.
