I bought a three-pack this fall at Princess Auto. It had the 21 degree framing nailer, a palm nailer and an 18 gauge brad nailer. The framing nailer is a very good product and has been of enormous use to me. I have only used 3 1/4" common cut-head nails in it, but ardox and galvanized nails are available at higher cost. The palm nailer will drive 5" spikes pretty well, but the knuckles of my right hand are just now getting their skin back. Trouble was on my nailer it wouldn't start with a one-handed push on the nail. It needed a jolt. Providing that jolt under the rafters of an old house meant bashing the ends of nails hanging down through the sheeting above. Messy. Also, the moment created by a long hose on a very small nailer means the other hand has to hold against that constant weight when working the tool off a ladder. So while the palm sander works well on the bench, it's a pain at higher elevations. The brad nailer tends to fire every second time, just like the identical one in a drawer in my shop. I used the other one for a winter of cabinet work but hated it the whole time. What do you expect for $18? Anyway, that framing nailer is well worth the money by itself.
