Has anyone ever rebuilt one of these pump. A budy gave me one today just wondering if it worth the time and money to rebuild.
It has a 1/2 inlet and 1/2 outlet. and a 1/4 inch air hook up.

Assuming you have an air operated diaphragm, AOD, pump. Yes they can be completely rebuilt. Here at work, they are used to pump printing ink in box making machines. I have a stock of parts on hand to fix them. The IR ARO shop is in Bryan, OH. Resently, the manufacture of complete pumps has gone to China. Still American threads and all parts are the same as before. Just pulled the book with info out of the file behind me. Try Opererator's manual #66605X-X, the beginning of this number should appear on the pump center air motor housing. IR tele is 419-636-4242. Probably can find info on line too. Grainger does sell some models and may have parts lists to view. Sometimes they are not willing to sell to general public. Look around and you can find an industrial pump dealer. They work neat and can move a lot of product. Wide selection of seat, ball, and diaphragm material to handle various products. From experience, they like clean air and a little ATF on the bronze bushing the piston rides on. HTH, George S.

I'm gonna assume your talking about a diaphram pump. If that's the case then the answer is yes, they are worth rebuilding. The pumps body material, as well as internal material determine what types of fluids the pump can safely or effectively pump. We've got a smaller one that we use for pumping oil into a barrel when we service a machine and a larger one to move it from the barrel to the tank for our waste oil heater. Recently we had to rebuild the larger one when we discovered the check balls that had withstood years of motor oil couldn't handle the old kerosine we were given . New the pump was nearly $2000, a complete rebuild kit with the proper materials to handle kerosine and just about anything else we decide to pump was a little over $400. The kit included basically everything but the pump body to make a new pump. Depending on the model you might be able to order straight from Grainger. Look in their diaphram pump section and they list kits for the various pumps in several different materials. if you don't see what you want give their tech support a call and they should be able to fix you up.
