What a coincidence! Yesterday, I stopped by to visit the next-door neighbor and he shows me a Coleman 3000W extended run generator he picked up recently. Got it for nothing because the engine runs but it won't make power. Was sitting by the side of the road with a sign on it.

I remembered this thread, looked it up, and followed the link. Turns out it is as simple as the information states. Started the generator, plugged in a drill, squeezed the trigger and rotated the chuck backwards. Didn't get the chuck one full revolution before it took off forward. We shut everything off and restarted it with other tools and everything works fine now. Seems to have a good bit of power as I hooked a chop saw to it and put some 2" angle in there and started pushing. The generator was working pretty hard, but made more than enough to run the saw under full load. That's at least 15 amps.

Stan, get that keyboard cleaned up yet?

Tim,

That's the best reply I've read in years. It leads directly into a question I have for you, though. What's the best way to clean coffee out of a keyboard, like, oh, just to pull an example out of thin air, like you might get if you had a mouthful of coffee when you read that answer?

try dangling the cream and sugar nearby to lure it out of there. you know that coffee's gonna want to mix it up.

When I see Homlite generator in the subject line,I wonder if you want to polorize a DC generator or field flash a Homelight 110/220 AC generator. Need more info on that.
