FORD REAR IN MY F-250 WHAT IS IT?

I have a 89 f-250 2x4 351 5 speed. if it had a limited slip rear its not working now.
problem is I dont know how to identify the rear.
aluminum tag on diff. says: v12c, 55 10 28 m22. mean anything to anyone? thanks Richard

Take the numbers to your friendly? Ford dealer.They should be able to ID that rear end.Good luck.Pollack Pete

The label on the driver's door post may have identification codes of the original rear axle which the dealer can interpret. Hope my memory about this is correct. Might be interesting to identify both ways if you are not the original owner.

It should be a sterling , if it is and it is a 4.10 and you need a posi. carrier i have one and it is new in the box don't have a ford anymore will sell below dealer cost.
