I want to use a gas strut where one wasn't used when this was built 50 yr. ago. I have made a search and the only way I can find them listed is by application. I need to find them where they are listed by their length and stroke. Any on know where I might find them listed that way?
L.D.

NAPA has them listed by length and pounds of force.

Do an on line search for "Gas Spring".
You will find millons.

Here are some from Burden's. By the way, I had some off off a Dodge Intrepid that got too weak to hold the hood up but I saved them. When the struts on the window of a pickup topper went away I tried the Dodge salvage; they were a bit shorter but worked great since when new they were much stronger than the original topper cylinders.

Go to: http://www.mcmaster.com/

Type "gas strut" into the "find products" box.

There's 5 catalog pages of them.

McMaster also list them by the pounds of force. You will need to figure out how many pounds it need to lift.
