McCulloch chain saw question

I asked you guys about the primer bulb on this same saw last year and you fixed me up so now I'm back again. The saw is a McCulloch 3516, my dad has been using it but now it's not oiling. I was there this week and replaced all the fuel lines and a cracked oil line (tank to oil pump) but it's still not oiling. Does the oil pump go out if it sucks air? I ran it for about 5 mins to see if it would start oiling after I replaced the oil line, should it take longer than that to start pumping oil? Do I need to prime the pump?

Any ideas on how to make it start oiling?

no need to prime pump. Sucking air will not make oil pump go out. Should pump oil in less than 30 seconds. Make sure the tank is clean, then Pull oil filter part way off & run it. If no oil, your pump gears are shot, most likely. Probably plastic & they just wear out.

Yes, there is a filter in the tank, I changed the oil line (it was broken) and put the filter on the new hose. The filter isn't plugged, I blew through it.
