Ross --- I owned a Electric Wood Splitter like your talking about, boy was I lucky to sell it to some one that didn't know anything about splitting wood. Stay far away from them things if your serious about splitting wood, ( if you split JUST slab wood - that's no big deal ) but tree blocks are much different... Take my advise and run, or you'll be sorry...

Craftsman used just acquired. Need to know where the six wires coming out of motor go. Need to repair. Or where can I get specs on this electric 10 ton older model. Any help appreciated.

A friend has one and loves it, he splits slabs for a big furnace that would fit the spliter and a log into the furnace door. Yet he still splits it --go figure--He is retired and loves to mess around with it, however a dull hatchet in the wifes small left hand (she is right handed) would easy out do the small splitter. Totaly a joke in my opinion. NE IA Dave

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. LIKE THE OTHER GUYS SAID, YOU NEED A GOOD HEAVY DUTY SPLITTER, ESPECIALLY IF SPLITTING 10 CORDS A YEAR.

4 ton splitter won"t do much anything, I would say 30+ ton splitter if you want any splitting sucess.

No experience with an electric one, but I'll bet they are slow, and at 4 tons, would be hard pressed to split a stick of butter.
